The Community Profiles Dashboard provides a range of indicators in relation to people in the community who may be more vulnerable to experiencing legal problems. The dashboard helps organisations understand community legal needs through data-driven community profiles.

Indicators include population data from the 2021 Census with many socio-demographic characteristics to choose from, alongside Social Services data, crime data in relation to domestic violence, and others. Each community profile combines multiple data sources to provide a comprehensive picture of those who may be more vulnerable to legal need geographically.

Community profile data is available at the national, state/territory and local level, by LGA, postcode, SA2 to SA4, and suburb.

In mapping the distribution of specific indicators at various levels of geography, the dashboard provides a tool to better understand the relative potential demand for legal assistance, and can be used to inform service planning.

Please refer to the User Guide for indicators definitions, data sources and reference periods, as well as some troubleshooting tips.
